What To Expect
Sunday Service
All are very welcome to join with us at our two Sunday worship services. The Sunday morning service is at 10.30am with Sunday School and Junior Church for youngsters. Communion is served on the second Sunday of each month. Sunday evenings take place at 6pm with Communion served on the third Sunday of each month. If you are thinking of joining us at one of our services then we would love to see you! There is limited parking outside the church, however, the landlords of the Mason’s Arms which is situated a short walk from the church, allow us to use their car park. Sunday School and Junior Church: Children and young people are very welcome to our Sunday morning services and they are very important to us. We have Sunday School for those aged 3-8 and Junior Church for 8-16 year olds and an older group for ages 16-18 also meet. Youngsters attend the first part of the service and then leave for their groups. Our aim is to teach the Bible and Christian values in a fun way that enthuses the children and encourages them to find out more. Our groups are small and in junior church the young people will have their own discussions where they seek to explore the meaning and relevance of Biblical stories and events to their lives. In addition to the Sunday morning groups, our two high points of the year are the Christmas Nativity and our Summer Prizegiving – on both these occassions the young people are in charge of the service and everyone is given an opportunity to take part. Nursing home service: Once a month we take our service ‘on the road’ and hold a special service at the local nursing home. This is on the third Sunday of the month in the afternoon (2.30pm) and is a short time of fellowship with the residents.
House Group
We have several housegroups that meet in different homes. We meet to study a range of topics and there is a time to suit all- Wednesday afternoons, Wednesday and Thursday evenings and a Monday afternoon session that meets monthly. Housegroups meet fortnightly and are a time for great fellowship, lively discussion, debate and prayer.
Coffee Club
All are very welcome to join us for coffee on Monday mornings. Coffee Club is a ‘pop-in’ time of fellowship for all ages with coffee, tea and light refreshments.
Chat And Craft
Chat and Craft is a time of fellowship and craft. This includes knitting, crochet, card making and other crafts. Items made are sold at the annual village fete with money raised given to charity.
Prayer is a very big part of our church life and there are various meetings throughout the week. On a Tuesday the church is open between 7.30am and 8am for the early birds. We meet at one of our deacons on a Wednesday morning at 10.30am while Thursday evening fortnightly we meet at the church for an evening prayer meeting. We also meet on the second Saturday of each month for a prayer breakfast at different members homes.
Men's Fellowship
The men meet monthly on a Saturday morning and enjoy a delicious cooked breakfast and hear from a guest speaker. A warm welcome awaits men of all ages.
Ladies' Fellowship
The ladies meet to hear from different speakers and enjoy different activities together. All are welcome.
Messy Church
Messy Church! We will be introducing this in the new year and will take place on the last Sunday of every month from 4pm – 6pm. There will be art and craft, games, stories and food for youngsters aged (to insert).
Hurricane Youth Church
This is a space for young people to develop their relationship with each other and with God. We are going through the Youth Alpha as we explore the big questions of life while having loads of Fun and Food on a Friday night.
